Barrier-Free Accessibility Declaration

The Austrian Research Promotion Agency (FFG) endeavours to provide their websites and mobile applications with barrier-free access in conjunction with Federal act via barrier-free access to websites and mobile applications of the Federal (Web Accessibility Act - WZG) BGBI (official gazette) I. No. 59/2019 in its current version.

This Declaration for barrier-free accessibility is applicable to https://www.ncp-ip.at/.

The state of compatibility with the requirements

Due to the following incompatibilities, this website is in part compatible with the Conformance Level AA of the “Guideline for barrier-free web content – WCAG 2.1”, more specifically with the applicable European Standard EN 301 549 V3.2.1 (2021-03) in accordance with Directive (EU) 2016/2102 of the European Parliament and Council.

Non-accessible content

The following, listed content is not barrier-free for the following reasons:

  1. Incompatibility with the barrier-free accessibility provisions
    • Success criteria 1.1.1 (non-text content):
      There are images without alternative texts.
    • Success criteria 1.2.2 (captions (pre-recorded)):
      The video linked on the homepage does not contain subtitles.
    • Success criteria 1.4.3 (contrast (minimum)):
      Text has in part insufficient contrast to the background.
    • Success criteria 1.4.5 (images of text):
      Images are used from text, although implementation as text would be possible.
    • Success criteria 1.4.10 (re-flow):
      The corresponding zoom level leads to horizontal scrolling.
    • Success criteria 2.4.1 (bypass blocks):
      There are no skip links
    • Success criteria 2.4.6 (headings and labels):
      The header hierarchy is partially incorrect.
    • Success criteria 2.4.7 (focus visible):
      The keyboard focus is not visible with the majority of focusable elements.
    • Success criteria 4.1.1 (parsing):
      Parsing errors according to W3C validator are present.
  2. The content does not fall within the application range of the applicable legislation.
    • There are documents (office applicable formats, such as PDF) on the website available to download, which were published prior to 23 September 2018 and not subject to the WZG.

Enforcement Procedures

Where the answers provided are not satisfactory via the aforementioned contact options, please contact the Complaints Office of the Austrian Research Promotion Agency with limited liability (FFG) with your complaint. The FFG accepts complaints electronically via the contact form.

The complaints are checked by the FFG to see whether they relate to violations against the provision of the Web Accessibility Act, in particular defects in adherence to the barrier-free accessibility requirements set by federal government or a body assigned by them.

Where the complaint is justified, the FFG must provide federal government or the affected legal entity with recommendations for action and suggest measures, which would serve to remedy the existing defects.
