Participation and cooperation in valorisation processes: Workshop on new codes

A few weeks after the Draghi Report highlighted the relevance of research and innovation as a driver of economic development in Europe, the NCP-IP held an exchange on the valorization of research results for the second time this year.

After the first stakeholder workshop took place in June 2024, we invited people to the second exchange at the House of the European Union on November 12, 2024. At the beginning, Stefanie Kalff-Lena from the Directorate General for Research and Innovation explained the developments and the European Commission's focus on knowledge valorisation. Alfred Radauer and Tobias Dudenbostel then went into detail about the contents of two central European documents on knowledge valorization, namely the Code of Practice on citizen engagement for the valorization of knowledge and the Codes of Practice for industry-academia co-creation fopr knowledge valorisation. These presentations provided a compact and informative basis on the EU's research policy focus on knowledge valorization and its connections to citizen participation and collaboration between industry and science. Afterwards there was a lively exchange and important discussions in two break-out rounds, which provided many important inputs from the Austrian community for us and the European Commission. We would like to thank all participants for the exciting and productive workshop.
