In order to demonstrate the significance of intellectual property, aws is organising the World IP Day this year on behalf of the NCP-IP, the national contact point for knowledge transfer and intellectual property. Due to the Covid-19 pandemic, the event had to be postponed from 26 April to 10 September.
Functioning IP strategies (IP stands for Intellectual Property) contribute decisively to the functioning circulation of knowledge and technology between universities, public research facilities and enterprises, thus contributing to the quick translation of research results to the economy. Crucial in this is the regular exchange which is guaranteed by NCP-IP with events, among other things. At this year’s World IP Day, the matter of property rights in the field of artificial intelligence is at the forefront.
Participants can attend the even on 10/09 from 10:00 am using a live stream. Register at: https://www.ncp-ip.at/events
Funding programme discover.ip with new website.
The programme discover.ip shows how intellectual property can be sustainably protected and utilised. At individual talks, innovative projects and business models of Austrian founders and enterprises will be discussed with experts of the Austrian Patent Office (ÖPA) and the Austria Wirtschaftsservice (aws).
“Intellectual property is the driving force of the Austrian SME landscape. We support enterprises in protection and utilisation with funding for the development and implementation of sustainable IP strategies”, aws Manager Edeltraud Stiftinger of the new programme website excitedly shows.
Mariana Karepova, President of the Austrian Patent Office highlights the innovative force of Austria: “Every innovative and creative enterprise, whether large or small, young or old, creates intellectual property in its lifetime. Even if an enterprise is itself not aware of this, we can bet that they have IP in their portfolio. Together with aws we can help them understand which property rights best suit their specific innovation and how they can best secure it on the market. We look forward to your ideas.”
On the new website https://www.discoverip.at/, founders and enterprises can get an overview of the IP matters and are able to quickly make a consultation appointment.
