The Ministry of Economics is launching a new venture capital fund for start-up financing, providing up to 72 million euros from the federal side. The start-up fund is intended to trigger private co-investments in start-ups amounting to around EUR 500 million and will be managed by a subsidiary of the state development bank aws. The new fund will build on the success of the aws Start-up Fund. Active from 2013 until the end of 2022, the aws fund mobilized nearly €500 million in private investor money with investments of €60 million in 46 startups.
