Digital Health Austria: Call for Proposals for “Flagship Projects” Launched

With the official kick-off on June 16, 2026, the first call for proposals under the new funding initiative “Digital Health Austria – Innovations for Tomorrow’s Healthcare System” has been launched. The initiative is being implemented by the Austrian Research Promotion Agency (FFG) in collaboration with Austria Wirtschaftsservice (aws) and the Ludwig Boltzmann Society (LBG), and aims to accelerate the adoption of digital health innovations.

The “Flagship Projects” call for proposals, open through November 30, 2026, is aimed at large, collaborative consortia from academia, industry, and the healthcare sector. Funding is provided for projects that link digital innovations to specific challenges in the healthcare system and develop practical, scalable solutions. Particular emphasis is placed on projects with high societal relevance and clear prospects for application.

A key feature of Digital Health Austria is the supportive accompanying services provided by aws and LBG. These range from networking and informational events to assistance with consortium formation and project development, as well as topics such as innovation protection, commercialization, open innovation, impact design, and societal engagement. The goal is to enhance the quality of project ideas as early as the application phase and to promote the transfer of innovative solutions into practice.

Interested parties can get an overview of the funding initiative, the call for proposals, and the accompanying measures during an online informational webinar on July 7, 2026.
