The New Normal: Open Innovation in practice

With particular focus on SME

Open Innovation is already a reality for many enterprises and organisation. Others are starting out with the Open Innovation processes and are first assessing their Open Innovation “readiness”. The opening of company boundaries exceeding innovation does not always occur voluntarily. The exacerbated competition surrounding talent triggered by digitisation and the undesired comparability and transparency in relation to prices and costs frequently force a view beyond the horizon.

Open Innovation has the potential to mobilise additional resources, e.g. new knowledge, cooperation partners and networks, or even future employees and markets.

At the start, the question is asked of how the innovation process opening and inclusion of external partners fit with the organisation and the management of valuable knowledge. It helps to have a clear concept of your own goals and interests. Those who are unable to precisely name their competitive advantages, will be hard done by in the delimitation of external intellectual property. This must be clearly defined and made transparent for all.

The NCP-IP webinar on 9/11 aims to support enterprises and organisations in their active, open innovation culture and encourage further steps. Possible hurdles and opportunities, even in dealing with intellectual property, are addressed from a practical point of view by two entrepreneurs, accompanied by a specialist legal expert in the field of intellectual property rights. Both of the best-practice entrepreneurs will speak from the view of the Open Innovation practice and provide useful advice. Additionally, aws experts will present the provision of NCP-IP in the support of Open Innovation and provide a general overview.
